CUBY development
Architecture and urban layout for the game-changing fast-assembly CUBY technology. Third version CUBY tech includes solar panels and gravity-based energy storages to create fully solar-powered urban neighborhoods, first CUBY towns are to be implemented in Florida (under construction) and California.
CUBY is not another modular building design, this is fully innovative, market-ready construction strategy. LAYERS deisgn follows every step of CUBY town layout from master-plan and modules structure to the interior details.

Adjustable pre-designed masterplans boost design speed while grant user-friendly neghbourhood environment.

Functionality may be a game, but most architects refer to it deadly serious. We're revising this approach with each project, but here revision is played really clear. Instead of interpreting functionality as strong binding of singular function to each singular space or element, in this project we assign maximal amount of affrodances to everything.
Precise distribution of openings and sheds allowed us both to protect building core from excessive solar heating, providing it's passive cooling, and create always-changing natural lighting even in transition spaces which are usually faceless and fearfull in such kind of buildings. Lamellas we've used for pinpoint shading of rooms where its needed are also a kind of gnomones, accenting movement of sun and shadow, creating ancient greek-like galleries - stoas, which helps disabled people even with minial movement possibility to interact with green courtyards.

First industrial space converted into cultural and tech (hacker+maker) underground hub, my first experiment in full circle placemaking from scratch to operational management (this one step was, sure, screwed) - it gave me huge spatial and management experience.
Extremely lean, while creative, soviet warehouse transformation was based on the use of an obstacle as a feature. Impossible to remove, 100-tonns storage structures were used as a spatial mesh, in wich voids we needed were carved as caves.
